Construction Traffic Management Plans (TMP)

Keeping traffic, transit, and people moving during construction.

Construction Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) are critical for maintaining safe and efficient movement around construction sites. MDT prepares Book 7–compliant staging and detour plans that address vehicle flow, transit reliability, active transportation, and pedestrian safety. We coordinate closely with municipalities, transit agencies, and utility providers to deliver permit-ready packages that minimize disruption while supporting construction schedules.

Reports/Deliverables

Our Construction Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) are designed to keep people, goods, and services moving safely during complex construction activities. Deliverables include full TMPs, staging and detour drawings, haul route plans, and ROW occupation permit packages. Each plan is tailored to the project context, addressing vehicle flows, transit reliability, active transportation, and pedestrian safety while meeting Book 7 requirements and municipal standards.

Value to Client

We help clients secure municipal and agency approvals quickly by delivering permit-ready packages that anticipate challenges before they occur. By identifying and resolving potential conflicts early, we reduce project risks, protect construction schedules, and maintain stakeholder confidence. Our approach also prioritizes safe, practical detours that support community access and foster positive relationships with the public and local businesses.
