A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
"Cities have always fascinated me. As a kid, I spent hours building buildings, roads, bridges, and intersections out of LEGO, imagining how people would move through the little worlds I created. My father, also a traffic engineer, with a local traffic data collection firm, gave me my first real glimpse into how those systems worked in real life. By the time I was a teenager, I was already out in the field, collecting traffic counts and learning the building blocks of the profession that would become my career.

That early passion led me to McMaster University, I studied civil engineering and began working in transportation right away. Early in my career at a large multidisciplinary firm, I gained invaluable experience preparing traffic studies, staging plans, and municipal designs on exciting projects such as the The Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway and Eglinton Crosstown Twin-Tunnel Project. A chapter living in Amsterdam reshaped my perspective, where I saw firsthand how thoughtful planning and active transportation can make a city thrive. Later, working in Vancouver and Toronto on major transit projects like the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain extension and Scarborough Subway Extension, I learned how to manage the complex, high-stakes challenges that come with building city-shaping infrastructure.

With MDT, I’ve taken everything I’ve learned and focused it on helping developers and communities grow together. My mission is to deliver traffic and transportation solutions that not only check the boxes for compliance and approvals, but also genuinely improve how people experience a place. At MDT, we see traffic not as a roadblock, but as an opportunity to make development stronger, more connected, and more sustainable."
